…says he’ll retain most Commissioners

Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State is set to announce a Head for the Akwa Ibom State Civil Service.

The Governor made this known at the swearing-in of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Emmanuel Ekuwem, on Thursday, May 30, at the Government House in Uyo.

The Governor also noted that he was going to retain most of the serving Commissioners on grounds that there was a need to maintain some of the hands which were contributory to the commencement of some programmes for continuity’s sake.

He said: “Between now and tomorrow, I will announce new Head of Service…To our stakeholders, don’t expect much changes in the Executive Council. We have a lot of ongoing programmes and continuity is key at this time. I will re-appoint most if not all the current commissioners to make quicker progress”

Meanwhile, Governor Emmanuel had on the same day, reappointed Mr. Ekerette Udoh as his Chief Press Secretary.

Udoh who is a brand expert and international journalist with more than 25 years experience in the media sector had served the Governor meritoriously during his first 4 years.
