Wike Recalls Suspended Council Chairmen 35 Days after

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has called back the 12 Local Government Council Chairmen he temporarily suspended on Thursday, April 18.

A statement by his Special Assistant on electronic media, Simeon Nwakaudu, indicates that the recall of the suspended Chairpersons is with immediate effect.

The Council heads were suspended by Wike for being absent at an official state function.

The Governor charged the recalled to be serious in their duties, especially in the tackling of security challenges in their respective local government areas, while assuring that whoever breaches the extant laws of the state or displays lackadaisical behavior in governance would be shown the way out.

The recalled Council Chairmen include Okrika, Emohua, Abua/Odual, Degema, Khana, Gokana, Ahoada East, Ikwerre, Eleme, Andoni, Omuma and Ogu/Bolo Local Government Areas.

They were suspended for 35 days.
