Platinum.ng gathered that the age-long Emir’s visit to the Governor, known as ‘Hawan Nasarawa’, takes place two days after Salah, and is seen as a mark of allegiance to the political authority of the state.
A statement on the cancellation of the visit by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ganduje, Malam Abba Anwar, has it that the decision was reached folowing a meeting with the Govenor and security agencies in the state, where an intelligence report on the breach of peace during the event was suspected.
Anwar noted that Ganduje, being a lover of peace would not want to endanger the lives of Kano people or toy with their security.
“For this reason and as a result of the intelligence report, the state government is not relenting, and it declares Hawan Nassarawa cancelled”, he said.
