Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, has averred that he did not approve the creation of additional Emirates to settle personal scores, as claimed in some quarters.
The Governor who debunked the allegation that he approved the creation of four more Emirates to spite the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido, maintained that he had much respect for the traditional cum political leader.

Speaking to newsmen in Abuja on Friday, May 10, Ganduje stressed that the approval for additional emirates is to make the traditional institution in the state more effective.
He also wrote off insinuations that the creation of additional emirates has disparaged centuries of tradition in the state, and emphasized that as stated in the Constitution, the Emir of Kano is answerable to his Local Government Chairman, not the Governor.
Platinum.ng had earlier reported that Ganduje gave approval for the creating of four additional emirates in Kano, following the passage of the bill by the Kano State House of Assembly.
The additional new emirates are to be situated in Rano, Gaya, Karaya and Bichi.
