Former Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has been given his Certificate of Return, proving his victory at the just-concluded general elections.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday, June 11, released Okorocha’s Certificate after it was denied him on grounds that he was announced winner of the Imo West senatorial election under duress.

Okorocha had then approached an Abuja Federal High Court who asked the INEC to give him his due.

Reacting to the development, the Senator-elect was visibly overjoyed as he thanked God for the eventual release of his Certificate.

He also thanked the Judiciary for its fairness, concerned Nigerians, and the INEC returning officer for Imo West Senatorial District, Prof. Innocent Ibeabuchi, who claimed to have announced the result under duress, saying that the assertion was the reason his case got national and international recognition.
