Following a Mobile Court order on Thursday, June 13, two traffic offenders have forfeited their cars to the Lagos State Government.

Following a Mobile Court order on Thursday, June 13, two traffic offenders have forfeited their cars to the Lagos State Government.

The Court ruling came after the offenders were arrested by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) officers on patrol along Opebi Road, on Wednesday, June 12.

They were subsequently arrested and taken to the Squad Headquarters at Alausa, before being transferred to the Lagos State Task Force.

Following this, the duo was transferred to the Lagos State Mobile Court, where the court ruled that their cars (Sienna and Lexus 4WD) be acquired by the State Government.

  1. Is this what the Law says about traffic offences?

    If yes, how could a law be so insensitive to recommend forfeiture of vehicle when people break traffic rules.

    I don’t know the gravity of the offence, but I don’t also know if there is any moral justification whatsoever for the forfeiture.
