EARCOM Chairman Charges Children On Prayers for Completion Agenda

… inaugurates Cordinating Committee

Dr Dorothy Thompson has charged the Children of Akwa Ibom State, to take their turn in organizing prayer conference for God’s continuous direction for Governor Udom Emmanuel’s Completion Agenda,

She stated this while addressing the Local Organizing Committee of Akwa Ibom Children Prayer Network,  AKC-PRAN, at the Ethical and Attitudinal Reorientation Commission,  EARCOM,  Office, on Monday September 7, 2021 in Uyo.

Dr Thompson who is the Executive Chairman of the EARCOM said any nation that does not pray well is doomed and cannot make much progress.

She observed that,  whereas Governor Emmanuel who she described as a devout Christian organizes monthly prayers at Government House, while Women and Akwa Ibom Youths Caucus have been praying regularly,  only the children have been left behind.

She thanked God for making it possible for EARCOM to initiate the process of engaging the children to pray for the State, success of Governor Emmanuel’s administration and the Completion Agenda,  maintaining that, out of the mouth of babes God has ordained strength.

Dr Thompson expressed appreciation to Governor Emmanuel and the First Lady,  Dr Martha Udom Emmanuel for approving and magnanimously supporting the initiative,  stating that, they have led Akwa Ibom State back to God and have maintained the Godly heritage of the State as a Land named after God.

She said EARCOM will coordinate a State wide Children Prayer Network drawn from select schools to represent the 31 Local Government Areas who will gather weekly to offer intercessory and supplication prayers to God, assuring that, when children pray, God answers.

She charged the Head Teachers of the selected schools who are coordinating the programme to discharge their mandate with total commitment and ensure the Children Prayer Network project is streamlined and the project is not defeated.

Delivering a special charge to the selected coordintors from across the State, a member of the Central Organizing Committee Dr Sylvia Umoh, described the initiative as very significant as the scriptures say, the kingdom of heaven belongs to children.

Dr Umoh who recalled the words of Jesus that, unless one becomes like a child again,  he cannot inherit the kingdom of God enjoined all those on the coordinating Committee to treat the assignment with the seriousness it deserves.

Speaking further, a member of the EARCOM Governing Board and Secretary of the Central Organizing Committee,  Pastor Ime David counselled members not to take  that some people take their selection for this assignment for granted.

Pastor David said the Central Organizing Committee has put measures in place for effective monitoring of the implementation of the Children Prayer Network across the select Primary Schools in the State and will evaluate feedback to ensure they are performing. He said children selected should be between 7-10 years and should be selected based spirituality and not mundane considerations.

Responding, the Head Teachers took turns to thank Governor Emmanuel for endorsing the Children Prayer Network and lauded EARCOM for anchoring the initiative which they agreed, will turn around the fortunes of the schools, children, the state and nation at large,  given the efficacy of prayers.

Earlier, the EARCOM Chairman inaugurated the Central Organizing Committee for AKC-PRAN,  as Chairman while Pastor Ime David serves as Secretary. Other members of the Committee are, Rev. Dr Sylvia Imoh, Hon. Victor Udo, Dr Mrs Iniobong Nyarks  and Rev. Osondu Ahirika.

The event which also featured songs’ ministration and prayers had in attendance some officials of EARCOM
