Congratulatory messages are still pouring in as Dr Ime Udoh assumed office as the 17th NMA Chairman in Akwa Ibom State.
In a message made available to the press, the President, Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), on behalf of the congress of ARD UUTH, extended its heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected Chairman, stating that the outcome of the election reflected the level of confidence the body of doctors in the state reposed in him.
The ARD noted that with such confidence, comes a measure of responsibility which his new office brings and that they had no doubt that he possesses the capacity to live up to it.
The Association of Resident Doctors in UUTH assured Dr Ime Udoh of their support in his bid to up-lift the NMA to an enviable height.
Similarly, the National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners (NAGGMDP), through its Leadership extended its felicitations to the newly elected SOC of the State NMA, led by the Dr Ime Sylvester Udoh.
In a letter to the new Chairman signed, by its Chairman Sir (Dr) Anthony Umana, NAGGMDP stated that Dr Udoh’s victory at the polls is a clear testament to his wide acceptance and approval by Doctors in the State, who have diligently analysed his credentials and made the best decision to advance the cause of of the Association, by their votes.
The message further read “We have no doubt that the elections have produced statesmen of proven integrity, courage, dedication, honesty – persons always willing to sacrifice and are committed to service.”
“It is highly remarkable and on records that this present NAGGMDP Leadership dispensation has produced Competent Leaders, NAGGMDP members and all past NAGGMDP Chairmen AKS in NMA politics like Elder Dr Aniekeme Uwah as National publicity Secretary, NMA; and now Dr Ime Sylvester Udoh as NMA chairman AKS”.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association, Akwa Ibom State Branch, Dr Ime Udoh took a guided tour of the NMA Secretariat and inspected the Association’s facilities on resumption of duty at the Secretariat.
The event which also saw the official hoisting of his portrait at the Secretariat, was attended by members of the immediate past state officers committee and members of the new State Officers Committee.
Hand over notes were also presented to the new members of the executive as they took inventory of assets owned by the association.
Dr Ime Udoh was elected the 17th chairman of the Akwa Ibom State NMA on July 18, 2020 in a keenly contested election.
