Children’s Day: Business Mogul, Akan Udofia offers 1,600 free JAMB forms to Students

A business mogul, and Managing Director of Desicon Engineering Limited, Mr Akanimo Udofia, has announced his readiness to procure 1600 JAMB forms for Akwa Ibom Indigenes who must have completed their primary education, and are wishing to proceed for a higher education.
He announced the offer on Thursday May 27, at Afaha-Offiong, Nsit-Ibom Council headquarters during the occasion of the Children’s day celebration held at the Local Government Council Sports Field.
Mr. Udofia explained that 100 of the JAMB forms are for Nsit-Ibom Indigenes, while the remaining 1500 forms are for the remaining 30 local government areas and would be accessed by 50 persons in each of the remaining 30 local government areas.
In his children’s day message, the philanthropist and entrepreneur who hails from Nsit-Ibom, called on parents to continually train and monitor their children in order to guarantee a morally upright generation that all would be proud of. He urged parents to continually monitor and be involved in the day-to-day activities of their children, as it would improve the quality of relationship between parents and their children.
The Desicon boss maintained that in order to curb the increasing incidence of sexual molestation of the underaged by adults, parents have vital roles to play in cultivating excellent relationship with their children.
He further observed that ” our children should see us as their friends, not their parents, only then would they seek advice from us, rather than turning to their peers and strangers for guidance.
Mr. Udofia thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for signing into law, the Child Rights Act and for the free and compulsory education program in the state. He also extolled the First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.)Martha Udom Emmanuel, for her efforts in ensuring that sexual offenders and child traffickers are prosecuted through the initiative of her pet project, FEYREP.
The Desicon boss also paid visit to Nsit Ibom Local Government Council, where he interacted with the Chief Security Officer of the Local Government, Hon. Eric Akpan, on areas of possible collaboration to bring about socio-economic development.
