Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Council Against Corruption (PACAC), Itse Sagay, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to sack Senator Godswill Akpabio, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs.
Sagay made this call on grounds that that Akpabio was neck deep in the issues surrounding the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Recall that the National Assembly is currently investigating the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of NDDC over alleged fraud and mismanagement of funds.

At the investigative hearing by the House of Representatives on Monday, July 2o, Akpabio had accused members of the National Assembly of being beneficiaries of most of the contracts from NDDC.
He was then asked by the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila, to publish the names of Lawmakers who he alleged, were beneficiaries of the contracts.
“If I were the President, if I were in his shoes, and if I was to advise him, I would say dissolve this interim committee, remove the Minister of the Niger Delta because he is neck-deep in it and bring in fresh people, probably people who have been properly nominated and then institute a very strict system of monitoring expenditure”, Sagay said on Channels Television, adding further that the President should also sack members of NDDC IMC.
Recall that Joy Nunieh, former Managing Director of NDDC had accused Akpabio of padding, fraud and sexual harassment.
The Minister, however, denied all allegations Nunieh made against him and ordered his lawyers to initiate legal proceedings against her.
