Movement not Restricted for Saturday, May 25 Sanitation

Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Environmental Protection and Waste Management Board, Prince Ikim, has announced the unlimited movement of persons during the Saturday, May 25 environmental sanitation exercise in the state.

A statement by the Board Chairman has it that the sanitation exercise which will hold across the  31 Local Government Areas of the State, will not have movement restrictions in the State “because of the Tee off of the Governor Udom Emmanuel’s victory golf tournament, projects commissioning and the Common Entrance Examination for military schools taking place on the same day”.

The statement advises parents and guardians “to take their children and wards for the examination without fear of being apprehended by the Law Enforcement agents”. 

It however admonishes citizens and residents to keep their environments clean and tidy while the exercise lasts. Consequently, “resource persons handling desilting of drains, litter control, sweeping, Vegetation and waste evacuation are advised to be at their respective routes with their workers for the exercise”, the statement concludes.
