Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Environmental Protection and Waste Management Agency, Prince Ikim has donated half a million naira to Mr Emmanuel Joe popularly known as Don Cool B, a talented musician who performed during the friends’ night in honour of his late Mother, Mrs Helen Akpan Ikim.
This came up after a follow-up meeting with the Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment, Mr David Sergeant (Utang Akwa Ibom) where talent managers in Uyo, brought to Ikim’s knowledge that the emerging reggae Star does not have a phone.
The AKSEPWMA Boss then donated a phone and a cash of half a million to the emerging music star on Tuesday, September 2020, while concluding plans to sponsor him.
“Thank you Utang for taking up the task of transforming this raw talent. Like I said while presenting the cash last week, the five hundred thousand naira is strictly for recording of his videos, I will give him a new phone after this meeting. Let me State here that I don’t know Don Cool B from anywhere, but I believe his success in the chosen music career will have a positive effect in the society. Everyone must not be a Politician, we need doctors, Engineers, entertainers and lots of others to have a balanced society.” Prince Ikim stressed.
Reacting, Utang Akwa Ibom commended Ikim for the love he has for his people and his desire to see young men succeed. He promised to personally supervise the video shooting session as well as feature the newly discovered talent in all relevant events and platforms in the State.
