Candidates who wrote the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and could not access their results can now do so.
This is coming on the heels of the release of the results by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Saturday, May 11.
It would be recalled that the Board’s Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, told newsmen in Abuja, on Friday, May 10, that the results will be out, next day.
He had announced that the Board would consider the number of results to release on Saturday, after its Friday, May 10 meeting.
Professor Oloyede explained that the reason for the delay in the release of the results was the screening of candidates’ results to check for traces malpractice during the examinations.
In a related development, JAMB has arrested one of its staff who allegedly collected N25, 000 from a 2018 candidate to help secure admission.
The suspect is said to have been reported to the authorities when he could not fulfil the promised admission.
“We are not hiding anything; we are ready to deal with anybody caught and they must face the wrath of the law,” Oloyede said.
Platinum.ng had earlier reported that the 2019 UTME which held from 11th to 18th of April, had over 1.8 million candidates on its record.
