As part of its strategies to strengthen bilateral relations with Nigeria, the government of Russia has announced the availability of scholarship for Nigerian undergraduates.
The Press Attache of the Russian Embassy in Nigeria, Mr. Ivan Lydkin, said this when the executive members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) paid him a visit on Wednesday, May 1, in Abuja.
Mr. Lydkin who encouraged the students to apply for the ongoing Russian Scholarship programme, disclosed that one of the cardinal aims of the 1st-World country’s presence in Nigeria was to help Nigerian students access Russia’s available academic opportunities to their advantage.
Lydkin said, “We have organised interactive sessions in Nigeria for Russia Alumni in the country who are over 10,000.
Explaining further, Mr. Lydkin noted that the scholarship programme was open to accommodate 30 courses under 40 educational programmes across 32 Universities, adding that the educational programme is full “and has been growing bigger and better over the years”.
