Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, former House of Representatives Spokesman has been appointed Spokesman and Chairman of Information and Strategic Communication committee of the Akwa Ibom State APC Governorship Campaign Council for the 2019 governorship election.

Hon Eyiboh’s appointment was announced at the formal inauguration of the Campaign Council on Monday at the Nsima Ekere Campaign ground in Uyo.

Performing the inauguration of the council, APC chairman in Akwa Ibom State, Hon Ini Okopido charged the Council, headed by former military governor of Rivers State and Ogun State, Group Capt. Sam Enwang, to ensure that no effort is spared in achieving the goal of returning APC and its candidate, Obong Nsima Ekere as the ruling party and governor in Akwa Ibom State come 2019.

Eyiboh is to lead the Information and Strategic Communication Committee, which has as deputy chairman, Mr. Iboro Otongaran and Utibe Ukim as the Secretary.

Speaking on the appointment, the Deputy Director General of the Campaign Organisation, Abom Anthony Esu, said the appointment was made to reinvigorate the communication segment of the campaign. He stated that Hon Eyiboh was expected to bring his enormous experience in public and strategic communication to bear in the campaign to ensure that the candidate of the party, Obong Nsima Ekere is elected come March 2, 2019.

He described Hon Eyiboh as a committed, creative and strategic thinking communicator, who has proved his mettle, as the Spokesman of the House of Representatives.

Hon Eseme Eyiboh was educated at the Holy Cross Primary School, Uquo, Esit Eket Local Government Area, Government Secondary School, Eket, and School of Basic Studies, Akamkpa, where he obtained his Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) Certificate. He also attended the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, where he obtained a National Diploma certificate.

Hon Eyiboh also obtained an LLB degree from the University of Uyo and a Certificate in Strategic Leadership from the SAID BUSINESS SCHOOL (OSLP) Oxford University United Kingdom.

The new APC Governorship Campaign Information and Communications Director cut his media teeth as a reporter with the Bauchi Publishing and Printing Co. Ltd (Publishers of Trumpet Newspaper) and rose to become the Trumpet Newspapers Acting Sports Editor in 1990.

He has served variously in the private sector as Director, Akwa Palm Industries Ltd, a World Bank Funded tree crop project, 1994-1997; Managing Director, Esuwdeik Nigeria Ltd, Eket, 1997-2004; Human Resources Consultant, (Logistics Department, Technical Training Center, Global Information System (GIS) , Marine Department,) to Mobil Producing Nig. Unlimited, Eket, between 2000 and 2004.

He was appointed the Executive Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Ethical and Attitudinal Commission by the government of Obong Victor Attah.

In 2007, he was elected to represent Eket/Esit Eket/Ibeno/Onna Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. While in the house, he was appointed Chairman, Media and Public Affairs Committee and Spokesman of the House of Representatives.

Between 2011 and 2012, he was appointed Chairman House Committee on Donor Agencies and served as a member of the House of Representatives Committee on Gas Resources, Water Resources, Defence, FCT Area Councils, and Health.

While in the House of Representatives, Hon Eyiboh founded and became the Dean, Faculty Board of INITIATIVES; a post era agenda setting and incorporated college of cerebral members of the National Legislature.

His fecund and creative mind further found expression in the creative art. His teeming imagination took him to the area film making, becoming a script writer and producer for a number of Nollywood films including:

“EKAETTE”, a public enlightenment/education film, produced as part of his effort at Ethical and Attitudinal Commission in Akwa Ibom state, to promote self esteem and inculcate the spirit of enterprise, honesty, and dignity of labour among leaders and the governed.

“UDUAKOBONG”, another public enlightenment/education movie to promote Mass literacy, benefit of education to the girl child.

“SUNSET”, a public enlightenment/education film on drug counterfeiting and unwholesome drug practices in collaboration with NAFDAC.

“DANSANDA”, another Home movie to promote public enlightenment/education and reputation management for the Nigerian Police.

Hon. Eseme Eyiboh is currently the Chairman of Board of Director of the Cross River Basin Development Authority and the Chairman, Forum of Chairmen of River Basin Development Authorities in Nigeria.

Hon. Eyiboh is married with children.
