How Physically Challenged Nigerian Emerged Millionaire at SM Business Forum

Anthony Kupe, a physically challenged Nigerian and a cerebral palsy patient has been made a millionaire in recognition of his resolve to become a graduate of Lagos State Polytechnic and starting his own business.

Kupe’s inspiring story was unveiled at a gathering of top Business Executives during the SM Jury Business Conference held at Lagos Oriental Hotel last week.

He was presented with a cash support of a hundred thousand naira by team SM JURY for beating all odds despite his numerous challenges.

His story fortuitously drew the attention of the keynote speakers, Dr Kennedy Okonkwo, CEO NEDCOMOAKS; Mr Victor Onyejuiwa, CEO The Source Computers and Princess Kelechi Oghene, CEO GMYT Fashion Academy, and they increased the amount to over a million plus.

The conference which was tagged ‘’Building Your Empire’’, saw panelists from all walks of life taking center stage to share their Entrepreneurial journey. They also challenged young Entrepreneurs to be passionate about their crafts in building their empire.

In her opening speech, the Convener of the SM Jury Business, Tonia Odili, said ‘’the goal of the SM Jury Business Conference is to train and mentor young Entrepreneurs in various fields, create a community of young entrepreneurs who believe in themselves and are ready to put their creative minds to use.

The event also featured a special presentation of scholarships to twenty aspiring young fashion designers into the GMYT Fashion Academy with a value of over twenty million naira courtesy of the GMYT Fashion School in partnership with the SM Jury Foundation.

Other Keynotes speakers who wowed the audience included the CEO of HNK Interiors, Mrs Funke Soyibo and the Director of Sales Remoney, Mrs Iyayi Oludapo.

Entering its 6th year, the SM Jury has hosted events at the U.S Embassy, Lagos Oriental Hotel, Eko Hotel and Suites, GOETHE Institute, Freedom Park and Obafemi Awolowo University.
