Akwa Ibom State’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Sir Charles Udo has said that Governor Udom Emmanuel is investing in a private sector-driven economy for people of the state to be independent.

He noted that this is manifested in the number of investors attracted to the state within the life of the present administration for the opening up of industries and businesses for the benefit of the people, particularly the youths.

 The Information Commissioner whose presentations at different state functions in the past days, form the focus of the third edition of “TheDiary”, stated this, while speaking to expectant young entrepreneurs in Uyo at the opening of a 3-day Business Forum for budding entrepreneurs in the state, under the aegis of the “Blow Business Summit”.

 Sir Charles Udoh said, in addition to the 18 industries currently running in Akwa Ibom state, Governor Udom Emmanuel is doing all to actualize the coming on stream of Ibom Deep Sea Port project, as it will contribute significantly towards making the people self-sufficient through job and wealth creation opportunities as well as boost the economic fortunes of the state.

 He emphasized that Ibom Deep Sea Port project will greatly stimulate the economy as it will open up job and wealth creation opportunities for the people.

He therefore called on youths of the state to acquire the necessary skills that will enable them benefit from the opportunities inherent in the projects. 

While at Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort for the opening of a 2-day Strategic/Training Workshop organized by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations themed: “Driving Corporate Performance through Strategic Public Relations Management”, the State Information helmsman who represented Governor Udom Emmanuel at the occasion, informed the participants that Ibomair is a strategic project serving as a gateway to attract investors and tourists to Akwa Ibom State.

He expressed that the launching of Ibomair with its high service quality and 3-flights daily schedule, has boosted the viability of Akwa Ibom as a preferred destination, adding that investors now have easy access to and from the state.

“It is no more cumbersome for potential investors and business executives to visit Akwa Ibom State, hold business meetings and return to base same day without incurring extra cost for lodging, accommodation or other logistic expenses”, the Information Boss stated.
