During the facility tour, Mr. Nsikan Johnny revealed to the delegation led by the Mayor of Calabar, Mr Effefiong Eke that motor parts are imported from manufacturers in semi knocked-down and complete knocked-down forms and are then assembled at the Assembling plant within the facility.

Speaking too, the Chairman of the Calabar Municipality Government, Mr Effefiong Eke said, he felt completely swept off his feet due to the level of investment and capacity of AKTC.

He disclosed that what lured him into the partnership was the realization that collaboration is the best option for boosting the transportation sector.

He commended the Managing Director for having good thoughts about the transportation sector and implementing same.

“It is loud and commendable. I think for a private individual to be able to gather and bring this up, the person deserves to be commended”, Eke said.

He further hinted that before his tenure elapses, he will ensure that a good commercial motor park is established in Calabar.

Having inspected the facility, the Mayor felt satisfied with the rapid development in the company and rated AKTC best in the thirty-six (36) States in the country.

“Across the 36 States, I have not seen a private motor sector that houses all that I have seen in AKTC. Likewise, the local content in the employment policy and capacity building philosophy rate AKTC far above its contemporaries in the industry.

The delegation toured the booking unit, warehouse, clearance office, workshop, loading bay, among others.

Others in the tour team were Director of Finance – Mrs Rachael Johnny, the Company’s Secretary cum Head, Legal Barr. Ubong Nta, Control Officer – Mr Kingsley Iweke, Mr. Uduak Akaninyene – Transport Manager and other management staff.
