A new Olowo of Owo Land in Ondo State has been announced.

He is Prince Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye.

Following a vote cast to choose a new Monarch for the land, Ogunoye had 14 votes from the total 15 votes cast by the kingmakers.

Platinum.ng gathered that 18 Princes contested the election which took place at the courtyard of the Palace of the Olowo.

It would be recalled that the throne of the Olowo of Owo Land became vacant following the demise of the late Oba Folagbade Olateru-Olagbegi in April 2019.

Before his emergence as Olowo, Prince Ogunoye, Platinum.ng learnt, was a Director in the Ondo State Civil Service.
