A certain Pastor Udoka Ukachukwu and his mistress, Iniobong Isonguyo, were sentenced to death by hanging, by an Edo State High Court on Thursday, May 9.

This follows their conviction in the murder of Engineer Victor Isonguyo, a senior staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC), and husband to Iniobong, in 2013. gathered that the late Isonguyo was killed and set ablaze by the Pastor who was having an affair with his wife.

He was then arrested when the vehicle of the deceased was tracked to him.

During the trail in court, it was revealed that the deceased was killed by a sharp object in his car and set ablaze by the Pastor, on agreement with the deceased’s wife who was already pregnant for the pastor.

The Court also heard that millions of naira and landed properties belonging to the deceased were transferred to the said pastor after his gruesome murder.

Meanwhile, Iniobong who was four months pregnant at the time of the incident was said to have given birth at the Benin prison before her death sentence on Thursday.

Witnesses testified that the murder was carried out by the convicts to cover up the pregnancy accusation by the deceased who insisted on knowing how his wife became pregnant while he was away.
