The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Housing, Rt. Hon. Otuekong Raphael Bassey, has made known the government’s commitment to ensuring a comfortable accommodation for medical personnel working with the Ibom Specialist Hospital in order to facilitate and sustain a smooth running of the health-care edifice.
Speaking in his office on Tuesday, April 16, during a courtesy visit paid him by Clinotech Turnkey Ltd, Managers of Ibom Specialist Hospital, Otuekong Bassey noted that Governor Emmanuel was concerned about the optimal functioning of the hospital and is undertaking an accommodation project for the staff as a drive towards motivating them for excellent medical service delivery to the people.
He urged the Management of the hospital to put in its best in ensuring that the hospital lives up to standards, adding that the Government is ready to give out the needful to help it achieve its set objectives.
Otuekong Bassey also implored people of the State and beyond to avail themselves of the highly specialized and richly equipped tertiary medical centre to save them the stress of travelling abroad for specialized operations and routine medical care.
Earlier in his remarks, President and CEO of Clinotech Turnkey Ltd, Dr. Harrison Ofiyai, commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for his remarkable zeal and efforts at making the hospital live up to its billing, adding that the hospital is now on sound footing offering world-class diagnostic and investigative medical operations among other numerous rare medical services.
Dr. Ofiyai called for more collaborative supports by the Government and renewed patronage by the people for the hospital to be greater and stronger in its unparalleled medical service deliveries to Nigerians and foreigners.
The event was equally witnessed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Housing, Engr. Efiong Efiakedoho and a host of Directors in the Ministry.
